Why You Need counter-Terrorism Plans:

From time to time as a result of terror attacks, many innocent lives have been lost, many injured and property damaged.

With the onset of war and heightened terrorist alerts, institutions need to create and test preparedness plans of their own, according to some security consultants.
Well-thought-out plans, involving students, administration, community and government agencies can do more to quell anxiety than simply stocking up on duct tape.

Until a few years ago, the idea of learning institutions as potential terrorist targets has been emphasised.
However, with wars and terrorism attacks all over the world, every institution should be on a heightened state of security alert. The government has warned that public places such as; markets, churches, schools, bus stages, restaurants, supermarkets etc are the major targets. Preparations for a potential attack is therefore necessary at all times (this is according to some security consultants).

Some issues such as handling explosives, bombs and bomb threats, creating emergency communications plans, and preparing for gunfire on campus&public places should be in the plans.

New issues such as mail handling procedures in the event of a suspicious package, preparedness for chemical & biological attacks or food contamination simply should be considered.
