What is the Sixth Assessment Report?

The IPCC regularly releases scientific reports on climate change.

It doesn't conduct its own scientific research, but instead, it analyses different published studies. In short, IPCC informs our understanding of climate change, and how it's impacting our world.

This is the sixth IPCC report of the series that started in 1992. This section of the report was put together by the IPCC's Working Group I, which has been analysing the physical science behind climate change.

The other section of the report will be released next year. It will analyse the different impacts of climate change, and how humans can mitigate its effects.
