While international commitments like the Paris Agreement as well as the Agenda 2030 (SDGs) signal political will for the necessary transformation, it’s not enough. The main gaps lie in the insufficient ambition of national energy and climate targets, the lack of informed policies and measures to scale up renewable energy and energy savings as well as unlock the necessary financial resources. Political action to implement a just transition that leaves no one behind are missing. Therefore, our overall goal is to support local national policy makers to fill the gap between international agreed targets and national action.
