President William Ruto to unveil his Cabinet lineup.

On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, President William Ruto alongside his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to announce the first list containing 16 members of his cabinet nominees.

IN SUMMARY

President William Ruto will name 16 members of his cabinet nominees. Our source close to the State House has revealed how the list looks like, and it is as follows: 

Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, the party leader of ANC and one of the Kenya Kwanza coalition principal will be the nominee for Interior and Coordination of National Government, he'll be the Chief Minister in President Ruto's administration.

Hon. Josphat Nanok, who is the former governor for Turkana county and the chairperson of WSR 2022 presidential campaign, will be nominated to head the Petroleum and Mining docket.

The former governor for Kwale county, Hon Salim Mvurya will be nominated to head the Lands and Physical Planning docket.

President Ruto will also announced Hon Aden Duale, the member of parliament for Garissa Township constituency as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Defence.

Hon Moses Kuria, who is the former member of parliament for Gatundu South and one of the Kenya Kwanza principal, will be the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

Hon Aisha Jumwa is the nominee proposed to head East African Affairs and Regional development while Hon Simon Chelugui will be nominated for the Water and Natural Resources Cabinet secretary position.

Hon Ababu Namwamba is expected to head the Foreign Affairs& docket.

Six women are included in the first list of the 16 cabinet nominees to be announced on Wednesday, already meeting the constitutional requirement on gender representation. 

Other nominees for different cabinet positions include Wangui Ngirici, Alice Wahome, Kipchumba Murkomen, Justin Muturi, Cate Waruguru, Alfred Mutua, Njeri Kabeberi anď Soipan Tuya.

Besides the six women in the first list, the President will name five other women into his Cabinet next week as he'd pledged to have 50 percent of his cabinet consist of women. 

The other Cabinet positions will be announced next week so that the Parliament can start its role of vetting the nominees. 

President Ruto will also propose nominees for Secretary to the Cabinet, the State House Comptroller, Attorney General(which is confirmed to be Hon Kithure Kindiki according to our source) amongst other cabinet positions.
