Understandably, many Kenyans celebrated the end of Uhuru's brutal handshake regime, with hopes that the future of the country will be that of freedom and #democracy under President Ruto, where ordinary people can live a life of dignity and prosperity.
It is a yearning for a better future, for a new and democratic Kenya that majority of us woke up early and voted for Ruto &his UDA/KK brigade.
The quickness with which this Ruto regime turned against the ordinary hustlers was astonishing, and I am among the first to admit that at first I greatly underestimated the lies that Ruto was peddling.
I was his diehard supporter long before I even became a voter. My political difference with William Ruto rose sharply to the surface during the Finance Bill GenZ protests, the DP Gachagua impeachment saga as well as his inability to stop corruption including within the Public Service Commission.
What we expected to see in post-handshake Kenya is that abductions and #extrajudicial killings will end, graft will be reduced, fair taxes and that we get job opportunities for our young population... but Ruto is doing exactly the opposite.
He's abducting Kenyans; left, right and center. At this rate he'll run out of people to abduct and he might end up abducting his offsprings.
In 2024, the government has come under strong criticism for using authoritarian tactics and cracking down on dissenting opinions.
Whatever happens, the fall of Ruto was preluded by the beginning of what was a massive upsurge of political activism and GenZ struggle. Going forward, workers and youth are learning from their painful experience of unbearable life under Ruto.
Sooner or later the masses will enter into struggle against the abductions, in a struggle for human rights, fair taxes, jobs, and better policies.
As we end 2024, all the signs are there, that this bread-based government of Ruto, Raila and Uhuru, lack popular support among the population; and it will collapse like a deck of cards in 2025.
As African, my prayer is that Djibouti's candidate Mahmoud Ali Yousouff win the AUC elections in February 5, 2025.
In 2025, we will enter the next stage in the GenZ revolution. No amount of abductions will stop what is coming!
I urge all Kenyans to register as voters if you haven't registered, and be ready to join the new party to be launched soon by our Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
