Yemen's Houthis hits central Israel for the first time

By RuzekiShadoww News

September 15, 2024

On Sunday at around 6:30 a.m, the Houthis successfully attacked a vital target close to Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Israel... with a hypersonic ballistic missile type Hatem-2, which was manufactured in Yemen.

The Israeli air defense systems alongside two American destroyers & French fleet in the Red Sea did not intercept it, despite multiple attempts to shoot down the missile.

Wow, the missile traveled 2,000 kilometers in 13 minutes...and evaded all the American advanced systems.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni forces are already in Syria for ground operations against Israel. They'll join Hezbollah for this tactical operation in support of Gaza, the Hamas and Palestine

On Saturday, Hezbollah launched a barrage of missiles into Israel, targeting the Metulla military base; dozens of Israeli soldiers were killed. In response, Israel attacked civilian residences in southern Lebanon.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has died in a tragic helicopter crash

By RuzekiShadoww News

May 20, 2024

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has died in a tragic helicopter crash near Jolfa, in northern Iran, on May 19, 2024. The crash also claimed the lives of several high-ranking officials, including Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and top military commanders. The helicopter, reportedly en route to a remote inspection, encountered severe technical difficulties leading to the fatal crash.

Rescue efforts were immediately deployed, involving numerous emergency response teams. However, the difficult terrain and the intensity of the crash made rescue operations challenging. Initial reports suggest that all on board perished instantly, and recovery operations are focused on retrieving remains and investigating the cause of the crash [[❞]]

Condolences have poured in from around the world. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed profound sorrow and called Raisi a "martyr of service," while leaders from all over the world such as Russia, China, India, Kenya, Brazil, etc., have sent their sympathies. The international community, including UN officials, also extended their condolences, acknowledging Raisi’s significant role in regional politics.

Raisi’s death is expected to have considerable implications for the Middle East. Domestically, it could lead to political instability as Iran navigates the transition of power. Mohammad Mokhber, the current First Vice President, has been appointed as acting president until new elections can be arranged [[❞]]

Regionally, Raisi’s death comes at a sensitive time. Iran's relationships with neighboring countries and its role in the ongoing conflicts in Syria and Iraq might be affected. Raisi was actively involved in enhancing Iran's strategic partnerships, notably with Pakistan and Russia, and his absence could alter the dynamics of these relationships. Furthermore, this event might impact ongoing negotiations and conflicts involving Iran, including the country’s contentious nuclear program and its confrontations with Israel [[❞]]

In summary, the sudden death of President Raisi is a significant event with potential repercussions for Iran's internal politics and its geopolitical stance in the Middle East. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining how Iran navigates this period of transition and its broader impact on regional stability [[❞]]

Opinion: As Iran responds, only hypocrites can defend Israel.

By RuzekiShadoww News

April 15, 2024

At least four countries, namely the US, UK, France, and Jordan joined forces with Israel to intercept some of the Iranian missiles before they could hit Israeli military targets.

Seriously, if you can shoot down missiles heading for Israeli military targets, why can you shoot down missiles heading for civilian targets in Gaza⁉️

To be clear, you could have easily prevented the genocide in Gaza from day one, but you chose not to.

During yesterday's emergency meeting at UNSC, Russia’s ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, called out the Western countries, including France, the UK and the US, are displaying “hypocrisy” after they declined to support a statement condemning the Israeli attack on the Iran consulate on April 1.

Americans, if you got humiliated by the Taliban, you can't beat Russia in Ukraine, you are unable to stop the Houthis blockade in the Red Sea, and are terrified at an Iranian response after Israel attacked their embassy, it might be a very good idea to stop trying to provoke China in the South China Sea.

If you've ever said that Israel has a right to defend itself, why is it so hard to understand that Iran too has a right to defend itself?

You think after Israel bombed Iranian embassy in Syria, Tehran would just count their loses and leave it to Allah? Hell No! Iran had to respond with hellfire of missiles, only targeting Israeli military targets.

Here's Israel's evil plan:

✓ To drag the West into a disastrous Middle East war or even start a World War III.

✓ To keep getting away with a genocide in Gaza.

✓ To keep slaughtering women and children in Gaza.

✓ To keep occupying the Palestinian land.

✓ To keep attacking Syria.

✓ To keep attacking Lebanon.

✓ To keep attacking other countries' embassies.

✓ To keep assassinating Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and engineers.

✓ To keep sponsoring ISIS.

✓ To keep blackmailing the American politicians (through AIPAC).

✓ To keep defying international laws (ignoring UN resolutions as well as the ICJ rulings &provisions).

Sadly, the United States and other stupid countries are willing to play along with Israel.

Iran launches more than 200 drones and cruise missiles at Israel in a retaliatory attack against Israel.

By RuzekiShadoww News

April 14, 2024

Iran has invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter to justify its retaliatory attack on Israel. The provision grants countries the right to self-defence if they come under attack.

Iranian officials have said their response to Israel’s attack on their Damascus consulate will be precise and limited. And that is what we have seen this evening in the operation dubbed “True Promise” by the Revolutionary Guard.

Here's what we know about Iran’s attacks on Israel:

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) said it fired hundreds of missiles at Israeli targets in retaliation to Israel’s deadly attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1.

Iran’s military response marked its first direct attack on Israeli territory and began on Saturday night at around 20:00 GMT.

Explosions were heard in cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv and West Jerusalem, and air raid sirens sounded in more than 720 locations as Israeli forces sought to shoot down the Iranian projectiles.

The Israeli military later said Iran launched more than “200 killer drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles” at Israel and that the vast majority of the projectiles were intercepted outside the country’s borders, with help from the US and UK forces.

The IDF added that a “small number of hits were identified”, including at a base in southern Israel, “where minor damage was caused to infrastructure”. According to Israeli military, there were no reports of major fatalities.

Israel’s Home Front Command lifted its order for Israelis to stay near bomb shelters in the early hours of Sunday, at around 00:00 GMT.

With the attack, Iran’s mission to the UN said it considered the matter of Israel’s raid on its consulate in Syria concluded and warned of a considerably more severe response should the Israeli regime make another mistake.

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting requested by Israel later on Sunday.

Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel have temporarily closed their airspace while several airlines suspended flights in the region.

The US president issued a statement on Iran’s attacks against Israel, shortly after speaking on the phone with Netanyahu, saying he condemns the assault “in the strongest possible terms”.

Joe Biden said that US forces deployed to the region helped Israel take down “nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles” and reaffirmed Washington’s “ironclad commitment” to its ally’s security.

COUNTDOWN: After Israeli attack on Iran's consulate, a retaliatory attack by Iran is inevitable.

By RuzekiShadoww News

April 06, 2024

Israel is on high alert and actively preparing for Iranian retaliatory attack that could come as soon as within next week.

After the Hamas surprise attack of Oct. 7, Israel has been relentlessly attacking Gaza. Israel has killed and maimed at least 100,000 civilians in Gaza, mostly children and women.

Israel has gotten away with war crimes including Gaza genocide for the last six months. However on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces made one last big mistake of attacking Iran's consulate in Damascus, Syria.

A retaliatory attack by Iran is now inevitable.

It is clear that the IRAN-ISRAEL WAR will be mutually destructive and disruptive beyond the Middle East, but Iranians think it is high time that Israel pays for everything.

The US asked Iran not to target American military personnel and facilities in the Middle East and that it cannot get involved in Iran-Israel war. The Americans understand that an attack on an embassy is an attack on the country to which that embassy belongs.

Iran has vowed to target Israel in response to Monday’s Israeli airstrike in Iran's consulate in Syria that killed senior Iranian commanders among other officials.

On Thursday, the Israeli Defense Forces announced that it was suspending leave for reservists, a day after it ordered the reinforcement of air defense units.

The Israeli government continues to urge its citizens to remain calm. After Monday's Israeli attack on Iran's embassy complex, Israelis have been on full panic mode, many have been purchasing generators, emptying their ATMs, storing food, water and other essential commodities.

Israelis are furiously working to hide ahead of what is to come, as they anticipate that Iran’s attack could unfold in a number of different ways.

Middle East Escalation: Israel strikes Iran consulate in Damascus; as well as attacking foreign aid workers in Gaza

By RuzekiShadoww News

April 2, 2024

Iran has vowed to respond in kind after an Israeli attack on its consulate in Damascus, which killed 11 including two senior IRGC commanders.

Here's what we know

Attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus:

Iran has promised to retaliate after a strike it blamed on Israel killed two of its senior commanders and five others at its consulate in Syria.

In a letter to the UN, Iranian Foreign Ministry warned that Tehran “preserves the right to take reciprocal measures and will decide the type of response and punishment against the aggressor.”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus will not go unanswered. Iran's Supreme Leader has ordered the Iranian armed forces to prepare a response.

Israel has long targeted Iran and its proxies in Syria. Tuesday's attack in Damascus is a significant escalation due to both the location and the target.

The Iranian consulate building, which includes the ambassador’s residence and is located next to the Iranian Embassy. It is considered a sovereign Iranian territory.

Killing of foreign aid workers:

An Israeli airstrike killed at least seven World Central Kitchen aid workers while delivering food to civilians in Gaza. Those killed nationals from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, a dual US-Canada national and a Palestinian.

International organizations and many countries have condemned the killing of seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza, on Tuesday.

Attack on press freedom:

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to shut down Al Jazeera following the passage of a law allowing the temporary closure of foreign networks deemed a threat to national security.

Gaza Genocide: UN Security Council passes resolution demanding Gaza ceasefire

By RuzekiShadoww News

March 25, 2024

Here's what you should know about UNSC cease-fire resolution:

  • The UN Security Council for the first time passes a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
  • Fourteen countries voted in favour of the resolution; the US, which is Israel’s main ally, abstained.
  • At least 34,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 80,000 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
  • The death toll in Israel from Hamas’s October 7 attack stands at 1,000, with dozens still held captive by both sides.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, claimed that the resolution failed to demand a ceasefire without conditioning it on the release of captives in Gaza. In addition, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir termed the UN as the wasteland.

As reported earlier, PM Netanyahu cancelled the departure of an Israeli delegation for talks at the White House on its planned Rafah offensive after the US abstained on the vote on the Security Council resolution.

Hamas welcomed the UN Security Council resolution but also emphasises its own positions on a ceasefire and the release of captives.

According to the White House, its abstention from a UN vote demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza does not represent a shift in US foreign policy. US officials are disappointed about Netanyahu’s decision not to send his advisers for talks at the White House about the Rafah operation.

Malta, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Slovenia and other UN members continue to call for full implementation of the UN Security Council resolution that legally binds Israel to an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for roughly the next two weeks.

The UN chief Antonio Guterres says the UN Security Council just approved a long-awaited resolution on Gaza that demands an immediate ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all captives.

Algeria’s representative welcomed the resolution’s passing, saying the UN Security Council was finally shouldering its responsibility as the primary organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security. He added that the Gaza genocide had continued for far too long.

Mozambique’s ambassador to the UN, Pedro Comissario Afonso, introduced the draft resolution demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. Russia’s ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya proposed an amendment to Mozambique's text, but it is voted down by the United States.

WHEN GOOD PEOPLE DO NOTHING, Children and women in Gaza will be wiped out by Israel

By RuzekiShadow News
November 18, 2023

I Rutto Zedekia, alias Ruzeki (the co-founder of Shadow News) do have a message for my fellow citizens of Kenya, Africa and the world.

But first, let me highlight some facts about the Israel-Palestine conflict:

The 2023 Israel-Gaza war, an ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip, is the fifth war in the Gaza-Israel conflict and a part of the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Since the inevitable Oct. 7 retaliation by the Hamas fighters, around 2,000 casualties have been reported on the Israeli side and, majority of them being soldiers. It is estimated that 240 Israelis are still held hostage in Gaza by Hamas group.

In Gaza, at least 13,000 Palestinians have been massacred by the Israeli armed forces, who have launched relentless airstrikes as well as a ground offensive. Among those killed in Gaza are nearly 6,000 children and 5,000 women. Nearly a million civilians have been displaced.

Unapologetically, I have termed the actions of Hamas on Oct. 7 as an inevitable retaliation. Israel knew such a day would eventually come; after years of Gaza blockade, settlement expansion, Israeli settlers assaulting Palestinians, normalized raids on holy sites, among other injustices.

The West will try to tell you that the Israel-Gaza war started after armed attack by the Hamas on 7 October 2023. But, that's not true. The current humanitarian crisis or rather the genocide we're witnessing in Gaza is a result of the 1948 'deliberate colonial' decision to establish the state of Israel, and deny Palestine the right to statehood.

The question of Palestine was first brought before the UN General Assembly in 1947. By resolution 181 (II), the Assembly decided to partition Palestine into two states, one Arab and one Jewish, with Jerusalem placed under a special international regime. This TWO-STATE resolution has never been implemented.

That's a short history about the current Israel-Palestine conflict. Now, here's my message to the world.

"WHEN GOOD PEOPLE DO NOTHING"

My fellow citizens of the world,

We can no longer afford to be silent &allow Israel to continue this Gaza genocide‌.

IF you support Palestine, from the river to the sea, from the mountain to the valley, from coast to coast, from Alaska to Sahara, from Amazon to the Savannah, from Artic to the Antarctica, from continent to continent, join me on X (formerly Twitter), consider contributing here or support other Palestine humanitarian causes.

Edmund Burke, famously said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for the good men &women to do nothing.”

In the Old Testament book of Proverbs 24, it says if you do nothing in a difficult time, your strength will be limited. It urges us to rescue those being taken off to death, and save those stumbling toward slaughter. It concludes by saying do not say we didn’t know about it (Gaza genocide or any form of injustice).

Wanasema, "there's a time to speak &time to be silent".

Well, I tell you, the time to speak is NOW!

For 75 years we've listened silently to the cries of the oppressed Palestinians but we can no longer be silent &just wish that it will all go away.

Whenever the cries in Gaza stop it will mean that all children/women have died.

The death toll in Gaza just in one month should alarm us. It should alarm us when the struggle to get a ceasefire is blocked by the Permanent members in the UN Security Council.

It should alarm us when the United States of America send billions worth of military aid to Israel. It should alarm us when the United Kingdom's House of Commons votes to encourage Israeli war crimes.

It should alarm us when some countries in the Middle East ignores the sufferings of civilians in Gaza. We can no longer afford to be silent and allow injustice to prevail.

For many decades, Palestinians have been ethnically profiled, bullied, hanged, discriminated against, raped, beaten, brutalized, denied food/water/fuel and livelihoods & self-determination...but the time is now to speak out against these injustices.

I call upon those in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and elsewhere, we can no longer cower in fear &hide. We are stronger together. Children/women in Gaza are depending on us, so please let's not fail them.

If you're a muslim, christian, jewish, hindu, etc, do not remain silent at this time. Let the liberation of Palestine arise from all corners of the world."

Israel-Palestine Conflict: Urgent need for a comprehensive and lasting peace

By RuzekiShadow News
October 24, 2023

In the heart of the Middle East, the Palestine-Israel conflict continues to evoke suffering, strife and instability, casting a shadow over the prospects of regional harmony and global peace.

Over six decades, Middle East has witnessed a cycle of violence, displacement, war crimes, and shattered livelihoods, underscoring the urgent need for a comprehensive and lasting resolution.

The ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict has far-reaching implications, not only for the immediate region but also for the global geopolitical sphere.

Amidst the complexities of this conflict, a remarkable opportunity has emerged for a transformative reshaping of the Middle East. The evolving dynamics have unveiled a unique moment that demands a holistic re-evaluation of regional alliances, power structures, and diplomatic avenues.

As the ramifications of the recent conflict reverberate across borders, it has become increasingly apparent that the prevailing status quo is in a state of flux. This critical moment presents an opportunity to chart a new course for the Middle East, one that fosters stability, security and constructive engagement.

The principles embedded in the United Nations resolutions, provide a foundation for the peaceful settlement of disputes, promoting the ideals of justice, human rights and self-determination.

A two-state solution

As we cover this conflict, it is evident that the gateway to sustainable peace lies in upholding international humanitarian laws and embracing a United Nations 181 (II) two-state resolution.

The UN Security Council Resolution 242 and 338 underscore the imperative of the withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from the occupied territories after the 1967 conflict, while simultaneously emphasising the right of all states in the region to live within secure and recognised boundaries.

It is imperative for all parties involved to honour and respect these crucial resolutions, as they form the bedrock upon which a just and lasting peace can be built.

At the core of this quest for peace lies the pivotal concept of a TWO-STATE SOLUTION, wherein an independent and sovereign Palestinian state coexists alongside the State of Israel, each within secure and recognised borders.

The establishment of a viable Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is essential for the realisation of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the fulfillment of their legitimate aspirations for statehood.

This will also safeguard the security and well-being of the State of Israel allowing its citizens to live in peace and security within internationally recognised borders.

A two-state solution offers the promise of a shared future, fostering the possibilities of cooperation, mutual respect and economic prosperity for both Palestinians and Israelis.

It envisages the creation of an environment conducive to dialogue, understanding and the cultivation of peaceful relations, paving the way for the cultivation of trust and the gradual dismantling of deep-seated animosities.

Additionally, it could open the door for the international community to actively contribute to the process of reconciliation, offering the necessary support for the establishment of institutions, infrastructure and mechanisms that promote good governance, rule of law and socioeconomic development.

The pursuit of a peaceful resolution demands unwavering commitment and sincere engagement from all parties involved (Israel, Palestine, US, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, UN, etc). It necessitates a collective will to transcend the barriers of distrust and suspicion, replacing them with the pillars of mutual recognition, respect and empathy.

Genuine efforts towards peace require the renunciation of violence, terrorism and all forms of provocation that undermine the prospects of meaningful dialogue and negotiation. It also demands a cessation of all occupation activities, as they represent a significant obstacle to the realisation of a viable Palestinian state.

The international community must play an active role in facilitating and supporting the peace process, ensuring that all diplomatic initiatives and negotiations are anchored in the principles of international law, justice and equity.

Multilateral organisations and key global stakeholders should foster an environment conducive to meaningful dialogue, offering their expertise, resources and guidance to navigate the complex terrain of negotiations and reconciliation.

Furthermore, they must encourage both parties to uphold their commitments and adhere to the agreed-upon framework for peaceful coexistence.

As we stand at this critical juncture, let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the pursuit of peace and justice in the Middle East. Let us reiterate our dedication to upholding the fundamental principles of international law and promoting the rights and dignity of all individuals in the region. Let us envision a future where Palestinians and Israelis coexist in harmony, embracing the ideals of tolerance, understanding and respect.

The journey toward peace may be arduous, but it is a path we must traverse for the collective well-being of the Middle East and the global community.

The transformative potential of this moment cannot be understated. It calls for bold, visionary leadership that embraces the ideals of inclusivity, collaboration and collective progress. By seizing this historic opportunity, Palestinians and Israelis can play a pivotal role in shaping a future for the Middle East that is defined by cooperation, stability and shared prosperity.

Now is the time for Israelis and Palestinians to chart a path that not only enhances their strategic position but also contributes to the collective advancement and well-being of the entire Middle East.

  • More than 2,000 people in Israel have been killed.

Here's what to know about Hamas:

HAMAS is an acronym for Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (Islamic Resistance Movement). It is the largest and most capable militant group in the Palestinian territories and one of the territories’ two major political parties.

HAMAS emerged in 1987 during the first Palestinian uprising, known as the intifada, as an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestinian branch.

The Hamas group is committed to armed resistance against Israel and the creation of an Islamic Palestinian state, whose capital will be Jerusalem.

HAMAS has been the de-facto governing body in the Gaza Strip after winning 2007 elections; ousting the Palestinian Authority from power.

Primarily, Hamas operates in Gaza. It also maintains some presence in the West Bank; Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon; and key regional capitals, such as Doha, Qatar, and Cairo, Egypt.

As of 2019, Hamas had between 30,000 and 60,000 active fighters.

For tactics and targets,HAMAS uses improvised explosive devices, short- and long-range rockets and mortars, small arms, kidnapping operations, rocket-propelled grenades, man-portable air defense systems, antitank missiles, and unmanned aircraft systems in attacks against the illegal occupant (Israeli military forces), as well as against ISIS and other Salafist armed group members based in Gaza.

The Hamas group also uses cyber espionage and computer network exploitation operations.

In October 1997, the U.S. designated HAMAS as a foreign terrorist organization.

Some of the notable or high profile attacks by Hamas group include:

On 7 October, 2023, Hamas group launched a surprise attack on Israel. Israel responded by a continuous bombardment of Gaza, cutting off power, blocking entry of humanitarian aid and ordering Palestinians to evacuate the northern Gaza.

In this ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, t he death toll stands at around 7000 casualties, millions of Palestinians displaced, thousands injured; at least 4,700 Palestinians massacred by Israeli armed forces, while 2,000 Israelis killed.

On 29 April 2022, HAMAS’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed full responsibility for the shooting of an Israeli guard in the West Bank.

On 23 Nov. 2021, HAMAS fighter killed an Israeli tour guide and wounds several civilians and Israeli police officers.

In may 2021, HAMAS launches more than 4,000 rockets at Israel during 11 days of hostilities; Israel responds with widespread air and artillery strikes in Gaza. The conflict results in 260 deaths in Gaza and 13 deaths in Israel.

On 1 Oct. 2015, HAMAS gunmen kill an American-Israeli citizen and his wife in their car.

Israel-Palestine conflict escalates

By RuzekiShadow News
October 07, 2023

At least 232 Palestinians have been killed and 1,600 wounded in Gaza during Israel’s retaliation. During the Hamas attack, about 200 Israelis were killed, 1400 injured and dozens were captured.

The growing casualty toll on Saturday came after the Hamas group running the Gaza Strip launched its biggest surprise attack on Israel in 50 years, firing a barrage of missiles from Gaza strip and sending fighters across the border.

Israel said it was on a war footing and began its own air strikes against Palestine targets in Gaza. Several gunbattles between bands of Palestinian fighters and security forces in southern Israel were reported.

Saturday’s attack came 50 years and a day after Egyptian and Syrian forces launched an assault during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur in an effort to retrieve territory Israel had taken during a brief conflict in 1967.

Here’s how the brazen assault unfolded:

03:30 GMT – Covering rocket fire

  • At about 03:30 GMT Hamas fired at least 5,000 missiles into southern Israel with sirens heard as far away as Tel Aviv and Beersheba.
  • Smoke billowed over residential Israeli areas and people sheltered behind buildings as sirens sounded. At least one woman was reported killed by the rockets.
  • The head of the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, Mohammed Deif, announced the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the first strike, which targeted enemy positions, airports, and military fortifications, exceeded 5,000 missiles and shells

04:40 GMT – Dawn infiltration

  • The rocket attack served as cover for an unprecedented multi-pronged infiltration of fighters. According to reports, by 04:40 GMT the Palestinian gunmen had already crossed into Israel.
  • Most Hamas fighters entered through breaches in security barriers separating Gaza and Israel. Some Hamas soldiers were filmed flying over in a powered parachute. Additionally, motorboats carrying fighters were seen heading to Zikim, an Israeli coastal town with a military base.
  • One viral video showed at least six motorcycles with fighters crossing through a hole in a metal barrier. A photograph released by Hamas showed a bulldozer tearing down a section of fence.

06:45 GMT – Israeli attacks

  • At 06:45 GMT blasts were heard in Gaza and 15 minutes later, the Israel’s military spokesperson said the Israeli air force was carrying out attacks in Gaza.

07:00 GMT – Fighting at Israeli military bases

  • According to the Israel’s military, the Palestinian fighters penetrated at least three military installations around the frontier – the Beit Hanoun border crossing, the Zikim base, and the Gaza division headquarters at Reim.
  • Videos shared by Hamas showed fighters running towards a burning building near a high concrete wall with a watchtower and fighters apparently overrunning part of an Israeli military facility and shooting from behind a wall.
  • In a statement, Saleh al-Arouri, deputy chief of Hamas in the occupied West Bank, issued a call to arms.
  • Several captured Israeli military vehicles were later pictured being driven into Gaza and paraded there.

Border town raids

  • According to media reports, Hamas fighters raided the Israeli town of Sderot, another community Be’eri, and the town of Ofakim, 30km east of Gaza.
  • Residents of southern Israel fortified their homes to function as bomb shelters and were using them as panic rooms. Israel’s military ordered residents to shelter inside.
  • By late evening, Israeli troops were still working to clear communities overrun by Hamas fighters.

Casualties

  • According to Israel’s national rescue service at least 200 were killed as hospitals treated hundreds of wounded people.
  • Medical sources in Gaza said at least 230 Palestinians were killed following Israeli air raids.
  • Israel’s foreign ministry accused Hamas fighters of going house-to-house and killing civilians.

Taking captives

  • The media reported fighters seized hostages in Ofakim. Hamas is holding Israeli soldiers. On Hamas social media accounts, footage appearing to show captives being taken into Gaza was posted.
  • One viral video showed three young men in vests, shorts and flip-flops being marched through a security installation with Hebrew writing on the wall. Other videos showed Israeli soldiers being dragged from a military vehicle.

19:00 GMT – Fighting continuing

  • Israeli air strikes in Gaza continued late Saturday night as did Hamas rocket fire into southern Israel.
  • Israeli troops are still fighting Hamas fighters in 22 locations near the Gaza Strip – a startling sign of the breadth of the assault.

New World Order: BRICS bloc welcomes six new members

By RuzekiShadow News.

Summary

  • BRICS adds Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
  • Expansion boost BRICS global strength.
  • Group leaves door open to further expansion, especially for the Global South.
  • BRICS bloc makes 27 percent of the global economy and 46 percent of the world population.

Johannesburg, Aug 24 - The BRICS bloc of major emerging economies agreed on Thursday to admit Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in a move aimed at accelerating its push to reshuffle a world order it sees as outdated.

In deciding in favour of an expansion, the bloc's first in 13 years, BRICS leaders left the door open to future expansion as dozens more countries voiced desires to join a grouping they hope can level the global playing field.

The BRICS group makes decisions by consensus. On Thursday, it agreed on the guiding principles, standards, criteria and procedures of the BRICS expansion process.

The expansion adds economic muscle to BRICS, whose current core members are China, the world's second largest economy, as well as Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.

The expansion of the group is part of its plan to build dominance and reshape global governance into a multipolar world order that puts voices of the Global South at the centre of the world agenda.

According to the Chinese President Xi Jinping, the membership expansion was historic. It shows the determination of BRICS countries for unity and cooperation with the broader developing nations.

BRICS was originally BRIC, an acronym coined by Goldman Sachs chief economist Jim O'Neill in 2001, the bloc was founded as an informal four-nation club in 2009 and added South Africa a year later in its only previous expansion.

The six new members will formally become members on January 1, 2024, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said when he named the countries during a three-day XV BRICS summit he is hosting in Johannesburg.

According to President Ramaphosa, BRICS has embarked on a new chapter in its effort to build a world that is fair, a world that is just, a world that is also inclusive and prosperous. He confirmed that the five core BRICS members had consensus on the first phase of the expansion process and other phases will follow.

Friends and Allies lead candidates

The countries invited to join reflect individual BRICS members' desires to bring allies into the bloc.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had vocally lobbied for neighbour Argentina's inclusion while Egypt has close commercial ties with Russia and India.

The entry of oil superpowers Saudi Arabia and UAE highlights their drift away from the United States' orbit and ambition to become global heavyweights in their own right.

Russia and Iran have found common cause in their shared struggle against the U.S.-led sanctions and diplomatic isolation, with their economic ties deepening in the wake of Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine.

On Thursday, the Russian President Vladimir Putin said BRICS is not competing with anyone. President Putin is attending the summit remotely due to an international warrant for alleged war crimes. He's being represented by the world's most vocal diplomat FM Lavrov.

Mr Putin acknowledged that the process of the emerging of a new world order still has fierce opponent. He believes the de-dollarization is irreversible.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi celebrated his country's BRICS invitation with a swipe at Washington, saying on Iranian television network that the expansion "shows that the unilateral approach is on the way to decay".

Beijing is close to Ethiopia and the country's inclusion also speaks to South Africa's desire to amplify Africa's voice in global affairs.

More than 40 countries had expressed desire in joining BRICS, and 23 formally applied to join the bloc.

Some 50 other heads of state and leaders attended the XV BRICS Summit in South Africa, which concluded on Thursday.

Ambitions and Results

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres attended the Thursday's expansion announcement, reflecting the bloc's growing influence. He echoed BRICS' long-standing calls for reforms of the U.N. Security Council, International Monetary Fund, World Bank and other global governance structures.

BRICS is now home to 46% of the world's population and 27 percent of global gross domestic product.

Bloc heavyweight China has long called for an expansion of BRICS as it seeks to challenge Western dominance, a strategy shared by Russia.

Other BRICS members support fostering the creation of a multi-polar global order. But Brazil and India have both also been forging closer ties with the West.

For 80 years, the United States dollar has dominated all other currencies. But BRICS is tired of the West’s looming presence over global governance and finance. The bloc is determined to take it down.

President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday in a virtual address to the BRICS summit, that the process of de-dollarisation is “irreversible” and “gaining pace".

The US weaponises the dollar in the Russian and Iran sanctions, there is increasing desire by other developing countries to seek alternative currencies for trade, investment, and reserves, as well as developing alternative multilateral clearance systems outside of SWIFT.

President Trump poured fuel on U.S. endless wars; as civilian deaths from airstrikes skyrocketed under his watch

By Ruzeki, Shadow News

During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump pledged to stop "endless wars".

Mr Trump portrayed himself, as a counterbalance to a bloodthirsty and out-of-control U.S. foreign policy establishment.

However, as our report shows, the reality of Trump's time in office does not fit with that rosy picture. Trump the 'anti-war president' was just a myth.

Under President Trump, civilian deaths from U.S. drone strikes in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and Somalia skyrocketed.

Afghanistan:

After Trump administration relaxed the rules of engagement for airstrikes in 2017, the U.S dramatically increased the number of weapons released from the air.

It dropped its largest yield bomb, the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) –i.e., the 'Mother of All Bombs' that killed many Afghan civilians. These airstrikes were uthorized by President Trump.

Immediately after the strike, Trump said:

"We have the greatest military in the world, and they've done a great job as usual. So we've given them total authorization, and that's what they're doing. And frankly, that's why they've been so successful lately."

Afghanis civilian deaths from U.S. airstrikes rose drastically about 330 percent from 2016 to 2019.

In 2019 alone, airstrikes authorized by President Trump killed at least 717 civilians, more than any other year since the early days of the war in 2002.

In 2018 and 2019, there were more weapons dropped from the air than at the height of US presence in Afghanistan in 2011.

On average, the US killed 582 civilians per year from 2007 to 2016. Sadly, the annual average of civilians killed rose by nearly 95% from 2017 through 2019 to 1,134 each year.

Well, Trump somehow reduced the number of US troops in Afghanistan before leaving office in January 2021. But the death of civilians skyrocketed under his watch.

Yemen:

Just weeks after Donald Trump took office in 2017, U.S. troops raided the southwestern Yemeni village of al-Ghayil, at least 20 Yemeni civilians among them 10 children under the age of 13, were killed in the attack. During the press brief, President Trump said the raid was “highly successful.”

According to estimates provided by the Human Rights Watch, at least 86 civilians were killed in airstrikes carried out in Yemen on Trump’s green-light. Most of these killings occurred during the years 2017 and 2018.

In 2019, Trump failed to take an off-ramp in Yemen: He issued his second presidential veto in order to block a move by Congress to end U.S. involvement in the war.

In 2019, Trump issued an executive order rolling back an Obama-administration measure mandating public disclosure of estimated civilian death tolls from U.S. operations in areas like Yemen that are deemed active war zones.

The move came two years after Trump relaxed rules around airstrikes and commando raids, thus giving the U.S. military the ability to carry out operations with reduced oversight.

Somalia:

U.S. airstrikes in Somalia hit record levels under Trump.

In just four months of 2020, the U.S. conducted more airstrikes in Somalia than it did during all of Barack Obama’s eight years in office.

The unofficial death till is estimated to be at least 50 Somalis civilians including children.

According to the Amnesty International, in just five of the more than 100 U.S. airstrikes carried out in Somalia since 2017, at least 14 civilians were killed.

Iraq and Syria:

As of the end of January 2019, the Pentagon says U.S. airstrikes killed at least 1,257 civilians in Iraq and Syria.

Other international monitoring groups, estimate that those U.S. strikes killed at least 7,500 civilians in those countries.

2017 was the deadliest year for civilian casualties in Iraq and Syria, with as many as 6,000 people killed in U.S. airstrikes. This is according to the watchdog group Airwars

By the end of President Trump’s term in office in 2021, local communities had alleged more than 29,000 non combatants killed by U.S military.

Iran:

In January 2020, President Trump murdered a high-ranking military official of Iranian government.

President Trump ordered a drone strike to murder the Iranian Maj. General Qassim Suleimani, who served as Iran’s viceroy in Iraq.

General Suleimani was the head of the Quds Force, the elite external operations arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which operated throughout Iraq under his leadership.

Suleimani 'successfully' ran Iran’s ground campaign against the ISIS in Iraq.

Americans know there’s stuff going on in the name of fighting terror, but there’s not much interest in the details. It’s considered unpatriotic to question what’s going on with the military.

Well, Shadow News is here to debrief you of all the human cost of airstrikes during President Trump-era.

President Trump made it harder to know how many civilians the U.S. gov't kills by remote control.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media was so distracted by the chaos of the Trump administration and allegations of the president’s collusion with Russia that it neglected to look closely at the war crimes president Trump was committing.

Wait! Before you leave, ask yourself: How likely is it that the story you just read would have been covered by another news outlet if Shadow News hadn't done it?

Consider what the world would look like with only the mainstream media? How much narratives, misinformation, and propaganda would be shoved down our throats?
